From our friends at the Northeast Carbon Alliance:
Join us for a FREE one-hour Zoom presentation and discussion on Thursday, October 20th at 3pm!
The Northeast Carbon Alliance will host a presentation by Dallas McCann, Farm Manager at White Feather Farm in Saugerties, NY.
Dallas will talk about White Feather Farm’s innovative, small-scale operation, which employs regenerative agricultural practices to improve soil health and enhance carbon sequestration. Working with Carbon Sponge, they are developing reliable protocols that allow virtually anyone to participate in carbon farming by building experimental plots for study across many different landscapes in both urban and rural areas. White Feather Farm monitors these practice benefits on site and in collaboration with other small farms in the region.
White Feather Farm is also partnering with Mike Rothe at Rothe Lumber in Saugerties, NY to produce biochar. Dallas will talk about their process, lessons learned, and uses for this carbon-rich material which may improve soil health and fertility, sequester carbon, as well as many non-agricultural uses.
To RSVP for this presentation, send an email to heckardt@scenichudson.org by Monday, October 17th. We will send you a Zoom link and agenda closer to the presentation date. We look forward to seeing you there!
