Kirsten Kurtz, manager of the Cornell Soil Health Lab, discusses the Comprehensive Assessment of Soil Health (CASH) test and covers general soil health management concepts. She is also known for her soil painting work (she create paintings using soil-derived paints). Her initiative around soil painting can be found here: soilpainting.com.

From the Cornell Soil Health Lab website:

The Comprehensive Assessment of Soil Health is designed for farmers, gardeners, agricultural service providers, landscape managers and researchers who want to go beyond simply testing the nutrient levels of their soils. It was the first commercially-available laboratory soil health test that provided standardized information on important soil biological and physical constraints, in addition to standard nutrient analysis.

Kirsten notes that 95% of the world’s food comes from soil!
